Is VaretIQ's free accounting plan really free?
Yes. VaretIQ Foundation is $0 per month, permanently, for one legal company. It is not a trial and it does not require a card to start.
What is the catch with the free plan?
The free plan includes no bank enrollment allowance and no accountant or bookkeeper collaboration. You record transactions manually or import them by CSV. Everything else — the double-entry ledger, invoices, bills, and financial statements — works normally.
Can my accountant use the free plan with me?
No. Foundation cannot invite an accountant or bookkeeper. Verified accountant and bookkeeper collaboration starts at VaretIQ Momentum ($5 per month) and does not consume a paid user seat from there upward.
Does the free plan include payroll?
No. VaretIQ Payroll is a separate product with its own subscription and is not included in any accounting plan, free or paid.
What happens to my data if I upgrade later?
Your company, chart of accounts, and history stay in place. Upgrading adds capability such as included bank enrollment allowances, accountant access, and deeper reporting — it does not migrate or reset your books.
